What are Healing Rooms?
“Simply a place where anyone can come for Christian prayer for any condition”
Healing Rooms provide a safe, caring and confidential environment where anyone can come to receive Christian prayer for all kinds of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual healing, through the Name of Jesus Christ.
Please note that we can not provide a counselling service
Who are we?
We are a group of ordinary Christians from different denominations. Team members are all trained volunteers and work under the guidelines of the International Association of Healing Rooms based in Spokane USA.
We also receive support and advice from local church leaders
Who should come for prayer?
Anyone who is in need of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual healing.
- People of any age
- People of any faith
- People who do not have faith
Prayer is offered free of charge because: “freely we have received, freely we give” (Matthew 10:8)
Healing rooms are not a replacement for professional medical advice and no medical recommendations will be made under any circumstances. People will be encouraged not to stop any medical treatment without the consent of their doctor.
What will happen when I come for prayer?
When you visit the Healing Rooms you will be greeted by a receptionist and asked to fill in and sign a simple form which asks for information about yourself and what you want prayer for. These forms are confidential and kept in a locked cabinet. Only those on the team will see them. You will be invited to take a seat in our waiting area.
The team of three people who will pray for you will be given your form. They will spend a few minutes praying before they invite you to join them in a confidential area where they will briefly discuss what you need prayer for, before praying with you. Each prayer session lasts approximately 20 minutes. Although there is no requirement for you to attend church or have any Christian belief to receive prayer, you will be encouraged to be open to God’s healing power.
While some people receive healing straight away, others find their symptoms get better gradually, sometimes after further prayer. Feel free to return for prayer at any time. After your visit we will encourage you to read some bible verses relating to healing and these will be available for you to take away free of charge.
Telling others about answers to prayer helps to build faith and is very encouraging to others who may be seeking prayer. Please consider filling in a feedback sheet with your story of healing. Your confidentiality will be respected.
What is the history of Healing Rooms?
The Healing Rooms ministry started nearly 100 years ago, when American missionary John G Lake helped establish over 100 churches in Africa. On returning home he opened a Healing Room in the city of Spokane in Washington State, USA and from 1915-1920, over 100,000 healings were recorded.
In 1999 Cal Pierce felt called by God to re-open the Healing Rooms in Spokane. Since then, Healing Rooms have been set up all over the world, over 4000 representing over 74 nations, under the umbrella organisation of the International Association of Healing Rooms.
